Dog Soldier Reunited
By Mark McConville
HEART-WARMING footage has captured the moment a soldier was reunited with her missing dog.
The video shows Ginger the dog running into the arms of its owner US Army Sergeant Dahlberg with its tail wagging rapidly.
The cute clip also shows the dog reunited with Sergeant Dahlberg’s daughter as they take Ginger back home in their car.
The adorable footage was taken by Front Street Animal Shelter worker Bobby Mann at their premises in Sacramento, USA.
“Ginger ran away several weeks ago, and Sergeant Dahlberg and her daughter were afraid their beloved puppy was lost forever,” said a spokesperson for the shelter.
“But after constant searching, they found Ginger on our website – and you can see how happy both she and her family were to be reunited.
“Unfortunately, she got parvovirus while she was stray. This disease can be lethal, but we were able to find treatment soon enough, and it looks like she’ll make a full recovery now that she’s back in her loving home.”
Front Street Animal Shelter also followed up with a home visit and delivered gifts for the dog and monetary donations to help offset medical costs with money raised from community donations.
The picture shows the whole family back together and they couldn’t be happier.
