The clip shows the kids squealing in shock before laughter ensues as the polar bear continues to swim around his pool and play with a plastic block, content that his ‘prank’ was a success.

The video was taken at Louisville Zoo by Youth for Christ International Global Trainer Michael Manna (51) from Columbus in Indiana, USA as he took a visit to the zoo with his adopted Ukrainian daughter Katya (18).

“While we were touring the Louisville Zoo, we noticed a crowd surrounding the underwater window at the Polar Bear exhibit,” he said.

“We also chose to sit and watch the antics of this playful bear. Many children also gathered near the window.

“Then, suddenly, the bear seemed to notice us, and he dove playfully at all of us gathering at the window.

“It shocked us all, to say the least. I would compare it to playing with my dog at home when he grabs my arm with his mouth and growls playfully but this was a polar bear!

“After going to school in Ukraine and in Kentucky, she decided to home-school her last year of school so that she could finish quicker than normal.

“She was behind a bit since English was not her first language. She was graduating in May of 2015, and we decided to take a zoo trip near the end of her education just for fun.”

Michael thinks it was all good fun and the polar bear was enjoying himself.

“I don’t think the polar bear was trying to scare anyone – and neither did the kids,” he said.

“He seemed to be playing with us all — like a dog growls playfully when he is pretending to attack you.

“Not many have seen this except family. When they see this video, they are surprised at the bear’s playful spirit and reaction to those on the other side of the window.”
