MEET the formerly skinny high school student who transformed into a bulked-up beauty with a Kim Kardashian bum after following tips from her Instagram idols.

High school student, Charlotte Webb (18), from Harpenden, Hertfordshire, UK, grew up as a skinny teen who always longed for a curvy body. After following fitness models on Instagram, she began to discover ways to bulk up and transformed her skinny 8st 11Ibs, size four frame into a bodacious 8st 7Ibs and is now a size six to eight.

She never used to exercise before and ate over 2,000 calories a day but Charlotte changed her lifestyle altogether and now consumes 1,700 to 2,000 calories a day.

ā€œWhen I first started going to the gym, I was 15 years old, I didnā€™t have much of a bum and I was so un-toned. I wanted to grow my bum and lean down,ā€ Charlotte said.

ā€œI was very unhappy with my body to start off with, but I always think that is the best kind of motivation, to do it for yourself.

ā€œI wanted to change my figure because I started following more fitness girls on Instagram. This is when I became more aware about how your body can change.

ā€œSince I was already unhappy with my body, I saw this as a great opportunity to try out and see what I can transform myself into.

ā€œAt first, because I was younger, I didnā€™t know much about weight lifting, so I stuck to cardio. Then after six months, when I turned 16, I started using the weight section of the gym.

ā€œFor the past two years, I have been lifting heavy weights, training my legs around four times a week, upper body three times a week and working on my abs all the time but only for 15 minutes each time.

ā€œWhen I first started, I wanted to put muscle on, so to do this, I didnā€™t do any cardio or at least I did a limited amount.

ā€œBut when I bulked, I decided to then target my fat to reduce it and to start ā€˜cuttingā€™, all I needed to do was increase cardio to five times a week and do the exercise for around 15 to 45 minutes.ā€

While previously, Charlotte would constantly compare her body to other people, she says she now feels confident in her own skin.

ā€œThe gym and fitness has changed my life massively because it has taught me to be confident with my body and to never wish to look like anyone else,ā€ she said.

ā€œI think itā€™s fair to say it has changed my outlook on life and personality completely. I now feel extremely confident, of course I still have moments where I am not, but thatā€™s normal for everyone I think.

ā€œOverall Iā€™m confident within myself and I donā€™t let things get to me easily. Itā€™s also a great stress relief.

ā€œThe changes Iā€™ve had to make is that I have had to track my calories. Iā€™ll eat between 1,700 to 2,000 a day ā€“ this is based on my work out routine every day, if not most days.

ā€œI increase my protein intake in my diet. When Iā€™m cutting down, Iā€™ll add more cardio into my gym routine and luckily I donā€™t need to cut down how much I eat because I love food.ā€

To achieve the results she wanted, Charlotte has had to try many different techniques that didnā€™t always go to plan. She says this was the hardest part of the process.

ā€œItā€™s finding out whatā€™s best for you. Some girls love cardio and will happily do an hour in order to cut down, which is fine,ā€ she said.

ā€œFor me, since I hate cardio, I try to do the bare minimum. You should never force yourself because you will end up hating it and becoming demotivated.

ā€œAlso, finding my macros was hard too, everyoneā€™s body works in different way, so I had to find out how much to eat, which was quite difficult at first.

In this Instagram modelled world, where teenagers aspire to look like the perfect fitness models on social media, people like Charlotte find themselves faced with negative comments.

ā€œEven though I get so many positive comments about my body, which I love because itā€™s so motivating, I do still get the odd few people who will pick it apart and find problems,ā€ she said.

ā€œBut I use this to motivate myself and you will always get hate no matter what you do, itā€™s important to realise that so that it doesnā€™t impact you.

ā€œThe best advice I can give to someone just starting out in their weight loss journey is to use weights. Start with lighter weights first, obviously, and always ask people who may know more.

ā€œI always reply to my messages about fitness because I love to help people and also follow as many motivating and fitness people as you can; this motivates you and gives you new ideas and new facts you may not have known before.ā€
